A step by step guide to making a local dish, with some very special ingredients .
Concept Ideation and Inspiration
The main idea of our concept was loosely derived from post partum depression and psychosis experiences . We were also inspired by cannibalism and it's depiction in various media. We tried to tie psychosis and cannibalism together, and how the later can be metaphorically interpreted as the relationship between a child who feeds on the mother's nutrient and the mother who carries it for nine months .
However, our work is not representative of any of these conditions, instead focuses on imaginary dark fantasy of a mother.
The idea went through lot of changes in it's production stage due to conflicting visions of the team hence , we have left it up to the audience for any interpretation .

Claymation using Stop Motion Studio and then rendered it in Adobe Photoshop.
(The main idea was to show the mother waking up feeling very sad. )

Initial Version of the film :
The above version was rejected for it's lack of cohesive narrative and consistency . The message of the film comes across as all over the place and it's darker elements are lost .
Therefore we decided to make it a parody of cooking shows . We also decided to lean fully into the darker elements making cannibalism the main focus . Unfortunately, it was too late into production to re-draw scenes so we re-edited the film with drastic changes .
I did compositing, editing, color grading and voice-over for the final version of the film along with Gauri Sridhar .
